This Privacy Policy explains how Plainify ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our service at plainify.app.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Product Specifications: The content you create using our form sections is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and is not transmitted to our servers unless you use the AI generation feature.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

We use Google Analytics 4 to collect usage data:

• Page views and navigation patterns
• Button clicks and feature usage
• Session duration and bounce rate
• Browser type and device category
• Geographic region (country/city level)
• Referring websites

1.3 Cookies

We use cookies for analytics purposes. Here's what we use:

Google Analytics Cookies:

• _ga: Used to distinguish users (expires after 2 years)
• _ga_*: Used to persist session state (expires after 2 years)

You can opt out of Google Analytics by:

• Using browser's "Do Not Track" setting
• Installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
• Using browser extensions that block tracking scripts

1.4 AI Generation Data

When you use the "Generate" feature:

• Your form content is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing
• This data is processed according to Anthropic's Privacy Policy
• We do not store your generated content on our servers

1.5 Anti-Abuse Verification

To keep generation free of bot traffic without showing CAPTCHAs to real users, Plainify uses Cloudflare Turnstile as an invisible human-verification layer:

• A short-lived, single-use token is requested from Cloudflare for each generation
• The token is verified server-side; no personal information is required to issue it
• Cloudflare may observe your network signal (IP address, request headers, basic behavior) as part of the check
• The token expires immediately after use and is not retained by Plainify

Cloudflare's processing of this signal is governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide and maintain the service
• Understand how users interact with our features
• Improve user experience and interface design
• Monitor service performance and reliability
• Analyze visitor traffic and usage patterns
• Prevent abuse through rate limiting

3. Data Storage

3.1 Local Storage (Your Browser)

Your product specifications are stored locally using browser localStorage:

• Data remains on your device
• Not transmitted to our servers
• Persists until you clear browser data or use "Reset All"
• You have full control over this data

3.2 Analytics Data

Google Analytics data is:

• Used to understand site usage and visitor behavior
• Retained for 14 months
• Not used for advertising or profiling
• Not shared with third parties for marketing

3.3 Rate Limiting

We use Supabase to enforce rate limits:

• Only stores hashed session identifiers
• No personal information retained
• Data automatically expires after 24 hours

We do not sell your personal information.
